The Naga Center Teacher's Guild
The Naga Center Teacher’s Guild is a small international affiliation of Thai medicine instructors who have been trained to offer certain Naga Center courses. Guild instructors adhere to specific lineage teachings, and share a commitment to studying, practicing, and teaching Thai healing arts as they have historically been practiced in Thailand. We are unique in the western world of Thai medicine teachings in that we approach all aspects of the craft, including Thai massage, through the lens and within the context of traditional Thai medical theory as handed down through a Thai lineage.
Teachers in this group regularly offer Naga Center courses all over the United States, and in London. Additionally we are often available to travel abroad should someone wish to host a class in an area that we are not currently rooted. Students who have studied with a Naga Center Guild instructor often have the opportunity to repeat any course already taken as an intern, with the same, or another Guild instructor for free or for heavily discounted rates. Additionally, students who have taken Naga Center foundational courses with any Guild instructor are able to take advanced Naga Center courses. All Naga Center Guild teachers have studied extensively with Nephyr Jacobsen.
What is The Naga Center?
The Naga Center is a school of traditional Thai medicine and massage that was founded by Nephyr Jacobsen, in Portland Oregon, in 2005. Trainings at The Naga Center are uniquely focused on Thai healing arts, including massage, as treatment oriented therapy and as they have been practiced historically in Thailand ~ especially as they were practiced prior to the current wave of western massage study tourism.
